By accessing or using Scan Alt ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Scan Alt provides an AI-assisted alt text generator and website alt text checker. The Service scans public web pages, identifies image alt text issues, and provides suggested fixes. Results are provided as a writing aid and accessibility review tool — not as legal compliance certification.

3. User Accounts

Free scans do not require an account. Paid plans require authentication via Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account.

4. Payments and Subscriptions

Paid plans are billed monthly via PayPal. You may cancel at any time through your PayPal account or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service; (c) interfere with or disrupt the Service; (d) exceed rate limits or abuse the scanning functionality.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its code, design, and branding, is owned by Scan Alt. You retain ownership of the content you submit for scanning. Generated alt text suggestions are provided as-is and do not transfer any intellectual property rights.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. Alt text suggestions are generated by AI and rules-based logic — they should be reviewed by a human before publishing. Scan Alt does not guarantee SEO rankings, accessibility compliance, or any specific outcome.

8. Limitation of Liability

Scan Alt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to lost revenue, data loss, or accessibility claims.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
